| Objectives | |||
| 1. | In order to achieve the objectives of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association from international and interdisciplinary standpoints, as set forth in Article 4 of Articles of Incorporation, the association hereby creates Fellow memberships for medical professionals other than orthopaedists and those who are not registered in Japan. |

| Qualification and Application | |||
| 2. | Any person(s) intending to become a Fellow of the Association shall satisfy the following requirements: 1) Any person who has Japanese nationality and full membership in a scientific organization recognized by the Association; 2) Any person who does not have Japanese nationality but has full membership in an orthopaedic association or related scientific organization in his or her country of citizenship; 3) Any person who obtains the recommendations of two councilors of the Association; and 4) Any person who has applied for Fellow membership by filling out a prescribed application form and submitting it to the secretariat of the Association. |

| Admission | |||
| 3. | The application for Fellow membership will be evaluated by the Board of Directors for admission or rejection. | ||
| 4. | The applicant will be admitted to the Association as a Fellow on the first day of the month following the month in which the Board of Directors have approved the admission. |
||
| Overseas Fellow | |||
| 5. | An associated membership for persons other than Japanese nationality shall be called the Overseas Fellow. |
||
| Payment of Membership Fee | |||
| 6. | A person admitted as a Fellow shall immediately pay a membership fee for the current year. | ||
| 7. | The Fellow shall pay the membership fee for the second year and later on or before August 3lst of that year. | ||
| 8. | If any Fellow fails to pay the membership fee by the date specified in the foregoing clause, the Association will send a reminder to him or her and/or suspend delivery of the house organ. | ||
| 9. | If the membership fee paid in advance does not equal the amount assessed for one year, the Fellow shall pay the balance without delay. |

| Right of the Fellow | |||
| 10. | The FELLOW SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING RIGHTS: 1) To receive the house organ and other publications of the association prior to non-members. The house organ is distributed to each Fellow from the month or year during which he or she is admitted; 2) To participate in meetings related to orthopaedics and related fields held by the Association; and 3) To make contributions to the house organ and presentations and submit papers to meetings related to orthopaedics and related fields. |

| 11. | The Fellow may not participate in general meetings of the Association, or vote for or be elected to any position as official or councilor thereof. |

| Duties of the Fellow | |||
| 12. | The Fellow shall have the following duties; 1) To pay the annual fee of same amount as that for full membership (in the case of an Overseas Fellow, the annual fee shall be paid in yen to a designated bank account of the Association); 2) To follow and comply with resolutions of the Associations general meetings; and 3) To notify promptly the secretariat of the Association of any change in name, address and other relevant information. |

| Notice of Admission and Withdrawal | |||
| 13. | The Board of Directors shall publish in the house organ the names of persons admitted to or withdrawn from the Association and notify said person (s) of the same. | ||
| 14. | Any Fellow shall be divested membership when and if falling under any provisions in Articles 8, 9, or 10 of the Articles of Incorporation of the Association, provided that the overdue period in Article 10. l shall be 2 years. |

| Readmission | |||
| 15. | Any person divested of Fellow membership may be re-admitted upon reapplication. |
||
| Addendum | |||
| Overseas Fellows are requested to remit stipulated annual dues in Japanese yen payable to the bank account of the Association. |
